David Callow

David's work is based around the representation of objects, animals, people and typography. A lot of inspiration comes down to the little things people do or say, "I love how something so insignificant upon first glance can hold strong iconic value". His main interest lies in abstraction, the poetic links between recognisable elements and the meaning gained from their orchestration. David's image making process involves pencil drawings that range from realistic depiction to geometric, abstracted elements combined with bold coloured cut out shapes, that create balance, but also break into and around the hand drawn elements.
